About Us

Our Commitment to Business Excellence

On the last Thursday of each month (with the exception of August and December), the Chamber hosts luncheon meetings. These functions are an excellent opportunity to meet with fellow business people from our area, develop networking relationships, and learn about other local and regional businesses. As well, the monthly luncheons feature guest speakers presenting information on the range of topics that are both timely and important to our business community.

The Chamber oversees the operations of the Visitors Centre in the Tourism Discovery Centre. People coming from around the world rely on the Visitor Centre to provide information on local accommodations, restaurants, and interesting activities. Often our staff assist visitors in planning their trips to and in our area travelling through or as a destination point. With nearly 26,000 visitors in 2018, the staff are quite engaged especially during the tourism season. Local residents also use the information provided at the Visitor Centre to keep current on events within the community.

Annual projects include:

  • Small Business Week
  • “Swing Into Success” Golf Tournament
  • Business Excellence Awards
  • Chamber of Commerce Week
  • All Candidates Forums- civic, provincial and federal elections
  • Economic Development- City of Williams Lake
  • SuperHost training and programs through go2HR
